Pastor's Notes
May 29th, 2008
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Just wanted to write to bring you up to date on
some news and upcoming events. First, let me say that I am humbled and amazed at how God
is working in the lives of so many young couples He is bringing to us. It has been an
absolute joy to counsel with so many young couples over the past five months, many of them
in deep sin, and to watch God gloriously convert them and bring them to Christ. What a joy
to witness Brent Mansfield and Angie Beekman stand in the baptistery this past Sunday and
give such a glorifying testimony of God’s saving grace. Pray for Brent and Angie as
they will be married August 23, 2008. I am currently counseling with two other couples who
are very near the kingdom of God. Pray that God will save them and use them for His glory!
I am so expectant as Friend Day approaches this
Sunday, June 1. I will be preaching a message entitled “The Greatest Love Story
Ever Told” (John 15:13). This message and manuscript
will be available on the Web-site under “Resources” soon so look for it! Please
pray for me and with me as I preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray that God would save
many people as a result of the truth being proclaimed!
I am excited about a Back Yard Bible Club
we are having in my neighborhood on June 7th. The entire neighborhood has been
invited and it is an awesome opportunity for me to be able to present the gospel at the
close of the event. How exciting to take the truth “to the streets!” How I long
for God to save people through this!
Pray for our Youth Camp June 9-13! Bro. Matt
Fowler from First Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals, AL. will be preaching the camp. Then,
June 23-27, I will be preaching First Baptist Muscle Shoals’ Youth Camp. I will be
preaching on the first three chapters of Daniel about perseverance! Pray for me!
I wanted to also mention that Bro. Paul Washer,
of Heart Cry Missionary Society, will be preaching our Fall Outreach September 28 –
October 1, 2008. Bro. Paul is no stranger to Shelbyville Mills and our folks still talk
about the meeting we had with him three years ago. Bro. Paul is an anointed man of God who
fearlessly and boldly proclaims the truth wherever he goes. God has his hand on Bro. Paul.
Begin praying now for this series of meetings. The focus will be on reaching out to the
lost to bring the gospel to them!

very excited about what God is doing at SMBC! I love you all!
